Beloved husband of Rowena; and loving father of Susan (Woody) Wendling, David (Faye) Jonas and Dana (Kathi) Jonas. Cherished grandfather of Karen, Andrew, Daniel, Brian, Rachel, Michael and Amy, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Bonnie Ruth. Lloyd graduated from Provincetown High School, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. attached to the British 8th Army in World War II, married Rowena in 1944, graduated from MIT in 1949 and was employed by Corning Glass Works as a chemical engineer. On January 9, 1950, Lloyd and Rowena became born again Christians, trusting Jesus as their Savior. From that moment on their lives were transformed and so began a lifetime of service to God. Pastor Jonas graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, Calif.) in 1956, and pastored churches in New York City and Lincoln, Neb. (as well as directing the Conservative Baptist Bible Camp, Freehold, N.Y., for several years) before serving long term as the associate and counseling pastor of Loudonville Community Church near Albany. In the 36 years since "retiring" from LCC, Pastor Jonas continued to provide Christian Biblical counseling in a variety of churches in Cape Cod, Indiana, Massachusetts, and New York. He was also a founding and current member of NANC (National Association of Nouthetic Counselors). Lloyd was a member and elder emeritus at Clearview Christian & Missionary Alliance church. Always available to provide Godly wisdom for practical living to family, friends and fellow church members, Pastor Jonas's warm smile, gentle spirit and "pastor's heart" will be greatly missed. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at Clearview CMA Church in Castleton.
