She leaves behind her husband of 25 years, Albert E. Gilchrist, and her six children: Ian Murray, Karen Lamothe, Lorna Faguy (Jacques), Leslie Bowskill (Terry), James Murray (Jeri-Anne) and Alison Murray Brown (Ted). She also leaves eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, with another on the way, and her first husband Walter C. Murray. Betty was born in Montreal, Quebec, but moved to Kingston, Ontario as an infant and remained there until 1963. She lived in Montreal and Toronto while working for the Bank of Montreal and ending her career as the Executive Secretary for the President of the bank. After her marriage to Al, they moved to Qualicum Beach, British Columbia where she has lived for the past 24 years. She loved to Skype with all her kids, grandchildren, and extended family and was happily involved with the Coronation Street Social Club of Oceanside. Betty and Al both enjoyed listening to Jazz music and danced the night away on many occasions. She will be sadly missed by her many relatives and friends.
