  • Obituary: Langille, William Arthur '96 Tatamagouche. With great sorrow the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of William on Saturday, March 21st, 2020, while in his shop surrounded by the tools of his trade at his home in Tatamagouche. Born in Truro, N.S. on January 21st, 1946, he was the son of the late Charles Avard Langille and Helen Ramsay (Harrington) Langille, formerly of Bayhead. His family moved to the farm in Bayhead in 1947. He graduated from the N S Institute of Technology in Halifax as a Certified Automotive Service Technician. He worked at several local garages and then completed his working years as mechanic and bus driver for the Cobequid Central Regional School Board working out of Tatamagouche. William was an avid antique car fan, and participated in many car shows and parades with his pride and joy, his 1967 Ford Galaxie. Over the years he was involved in many truck and tractor restorations and repairs for both himself and many others. He loved his many dogs he owned throughout his lifetime and gave many a chuckle to see his co-pilot dog is his snowplowing truck with him.William is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jacquie (Hunt); daughter, Thelma Langille, Amherst, and her children, Zachary and Alicia Lynds; sons, Jason and his daughter, Zayna; Martin (Lisa), and their children, Melanie, Michelle, Marcus and Michael, of Fort McMurray, Alta.; sister, Donna Langille, and her children, Jamie and Tyler Fraser. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Thelma (Hunt) Smith; 3 uncles and an aunt along with numerous cousins, brothers and sisters-in -law and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was predeceased by father-in-law, Wallace Hunt; brothers-in-law, Corky Hunt and James Fraser; sister-in-law, Heather Hunt and nephew, Anthony Tattrie. Cremation has taken place under the care of Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. When life returns to normal, a service in celebration of his life will be held. Donations in William's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Third Place Transition House, Truro or a charity of your choosing would be appreciated.
