Born in Noel Road, he was a son of the late Prescott and Edith (Singer) White. Max worked as a carpenter for many years, also at the Abattoir in Halifax. He was well-known in the area for his ability to repair lawnmowers and power saws. Max enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Family and friends will miss him dearly along with his four legged companion "Reba". Max is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nora (White) White; daughter, Sonya (Raymond) Bujold, Noel Road, and grandchildren, Renee and Ben, who were the love of his life; sisters, Betty White, Adreu (Wilmont) White, both of Noel Road; Ethel Andrus, Gormanville; Tris Blackmore, Kennetcook; Madeline (Ken) Spares, Selma; Arleen (Bruce) White and Aileen (Johnny) Fortune, both of Minasville; brothers, Perry (Nellie) and Jack (Mary), both of Noel Road, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Max was predeceased by his sister, Isabelle White, and brothers, Earlin and Wilfred. Cremation has taken place with visitation 7-9 p.m. today and a memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m., both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy. 354, Kennetcook, Chuck Paterson, LPM, officiating with private family interment in St. James Presbyterian Cemetery, White Settlement Road. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Max can be made to St. James Presbyterian Church, C/O Carolyn Miller, RR2, Kennetcook, NS BON 1PO or a charity of choice.
