Born on December 22, 1948, in Latties Brook, he was a son of the late William and Annie Burton (Latties Brook). He was a member of St. John The Baptist Anglican Church. John loved playing cards, fishing, watching sports and doing crossword puzzles. After serving in the navy, he worked in carpentry and as a woodsman. He is survived by his wife, Linda (MacPhee); daughter, Angela, Latties Brook; stepdaughter, Kim Nixon, Halifax; stepson, Todd MacPhee, Kennetcook; brothers, Lloyd and wife Hazel, Joseph, both of Latties Brook. He was predeceased by sisters, Robena, Hazel and Annie (all of Latties Brook). No visitation by request. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, in St. John The Baptist Anglican Church, Latties Brook, Rev. William Harrington officiating. Burial in St. John The Baptist Anglican Church Cemetery.
