  • Obituary: DALRYMPLE, Edmund Donovan 'Ed' '97 83. It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Ed on Mon-day, June 14, 2010, at home with family members by his side. Born May 1, 1927, in Kennetcook, he was a son of the late Hiram and Ruth (Singer) Dal-rymple. Ed served overseas in the Second World War as an anti-aircraft gunner. He then worked for Algoma Steel in Wawa, Ont. and returned to Nova Scotia and retired after 27 years at Shubenacadie Wild Life Park. Ed liked to hunt, fish, play cards, was a great storyteller and was a lover of all animals. Ed will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Cora (Harvie); sister-in-law, Mildred Dalrymple, Truro; brother, Carmen, Kentville; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth (Jim) Hammett and Ra-chal in infancy; brothers, Eden, El-bert, Arthur and Joseph and foster brother, Walter (Ellen) White. Crema-tion has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 19, at 2 p.m. in St. James Presbyterian Church, Noel Road, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald offi-cating. Reception will follow in Little White Hall and a private family com-mittal service in West Gore Cemetery, West Gore. Family flowers only.
