  • Obituary: BARRON, Mabel Gladys - 93, Rawdon Gold Mines, died August 8, 1997, in Windsor Elms. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late George and Nora (Hiltz) Bauer. She was a survivor of The Halifax Explosion, when her parents home, on Albert Street, was completely destroyed, while she was at school nearby. She was a resident of Rawdon Gold Mines for over 70 years; very active member of the Anglican Church, the ACW and of the community. Surviving are daughter, Norma Wilson, Dartmouth; son, Murray, Rawdon Gold Mines; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Loran; sons, Arnold, Anthony in infancy; an infant granddaughter. Funeral 2 p.m. today in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Centre Rawdon, Rev. Robert Brush officiating, assisted by Pastor Arlene Croft. Burial in church cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to Windsor Elms.
