Notes

  • Obituary: Baker, Margaret Eliza - 78 of Kennetcook, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully at home on April 7th, 2022, with her family by her side. Born in North Noel Roadon August 6th, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Edith (White) McCulloch of North Noel Road, Nova Scotia. Mom spent many years being a support to many. She would either babysit children or would stay with the elderly so they could live in their homes as long as life would allow. Mom retired from this when she turned 65. Whenever a hand was needed for various functions in the community, Mom was always there to help in anyway. Quilting was one of her favorite pastimes, spending many days at home or at someone's house stitching away with the ladies. Mom loved a good game of cards and travelled weekly to play cards with the girls at someone's house or community hall. Bingo was another fancy of hers, playing Sunday night at the Green Hall and radio Bingo on Tuesdays. In her later years Mom had joined a fun dart league at the Kennetcook firehall. She didn't watch much tv, but she loved watching the Toronto Blue Jays. Mom will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Margaret is survived by her children Rickey (Sandra), Beaverbank, NS, Annette Baker (Randell), Kennetcook, NS, Victoria Burns (Garnet), Noel, NS and Son-in-law Mitchell White, North Noel Road, her pride and joy, grandchildren Lindsay, Matthew, Tyson and Kale, many nieces and nephews across Canada. Mom had a special bond with her first-born niece Jackie, who was like a 4th child to her. Brothers Hollis (Elsie), Stewiacke, NS, Tony (Lorna) Flin Flon, Manitoba and youngest brother Ellis, North Noel Road, NS. Besides her parents, Margaret is predeceased by brothers Glenwood, Avery & Stanley and sister, Cora Cox. There will be a graveside Committal Service in the North Noel Road Cemetery on Saturday April 16th, at 11am, Cory Lunn officiating. In lieu of flowers we would like donations to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Hants North Food Bank, Lattie's Brook, NS. hantsnorthcommunityfoodbank@gmail.com or contact Kim Burns 902-471-4277. Mom spent many years supporting the food bank which was near and dear to heart. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354, Kennetcook, ph-1-902-362-2440 or please visit our website at www.allenfh.ca to sign the guest book and send private condolences.
