Born in Upper Kennetcook, he was a son of the late Wilbert and Susan (MacAskill) Miller. Robie worked at Hants North Rural High School, retiring after more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed playing cards, collecting bottles and scratching lotto tickets. Robie was caretaker at St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Upper Kennetcook, for 30 years. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Robie is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, the former June (Sanford); his daughters, Beatrice (Cyril) Harvey, Elmsdale; Patricia (James) Singer, Gormanville, and Karen (Leslie) Ettinger, Latties Brook; sons, Shawn, Vancouver; Kendall, Ottawa; and Shannon (Pamela), Upper Kennetcook; grandchildren, Dustin, Melanie, Angela, Lisa, Michael, Michelle, Taylor, and Bria, sisters, Elsie Turner, Ottawa, and Norma (Roland) Robitaille, Rawdon; brothers, Reginald, Upper Kennetcook; Wendell (Jeannine), Windsor, and Wayne (Lee), East Gore. Robie was predeceased by his son, Dale, grandson, Donavan; sisters, Beatrice, Marjorie, and Marilyn; brothers, Raymond and Reuben. Cremation has taken place with visitation 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 22, in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Highway 354, Kennetcook. Private family committal service Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Upper Kennetcook, Chuck Paterson officiating.
