She was born April 23, 1920, in Alton, daughter of the late Hibbert and Mabel (Edmundson) Miller. Evelyn worked several years at the Penobscot Chemical Fibre Company prior to owning and operating the Old Town Furniture Company for 50 years, until her retirement. She was a past member of the Altrusa Club of Bangor. She is survived and will be sadly missed by two daughters, Donna D. Oakes and her husband, James, Linda D. Costigan and her husband, Francis Sr., all of Old Town; five grandchildren, Francis Costigan Jr., Tracey Tranton, Brad Costigan, Debbie Webber and Danielle O'Neil; five great-grandchildren, Colby Tranton, Corey Tranton, Jessica Webber, Matthew Webber and Isaac Webber; sister, M. Dreame Johnston of Old Town; several nieces and nephews. The daughters wish to extend a special Thank You to Francis Jr. and Tracey, for the time they spent with their grandmother at the nursing home. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leon Dubay; four brothers, Cecil, Merle, Kenneth and R. Vaughn Miller; one sister, Velma M. Webber. A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
