Born in Upper Kennet-cook on February 10, 1943, Bobby was a son of the late William and Viola (Miller) Hanes. He worked for 34 years at the Canadian Broadcast-ing Corporation, retiring in 1995. Bobby is survived by his wife of 48 years, Norma (Zinck); daughter, Heather; granddaughter, Holly; brother, Kerry; brother-in-law, Charlie Newton; and several nieces and ne-phews. Bobby was predeceased by his brothers, Arthur, Lewis, and Lawrence; and sisters, Thelma (Mrs. Charles Newton) and Neta (Mrs. George Burns). Cremation has taken place with no service or visitation by request, with interment to take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Bobby may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, St. Peter's Anglican Church Cemetery, or the Palliative Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre (CEHHC).
