He was 62 years of age and had been in failing health for some time. A son of the late James and Helen Spencer, Great Village he came to Stewiacke to reside in 1941 where he practiced his trade as carpenter. For many years he was an elder and Sunday school superin- tendant in the United Church at Great Village. He held similar positions with St. Andrew's United Church in Stewiacke. Mr. Spencer retired two months ago. Surviving are his wife, the former Hazel McPhee, Nine Mile River, one foster daughter, Jeannie and six brothers, Perley,Stewiacke; Arthur, Stettler, Alta; Roy, Vancouver; Warren, Worcester,Mass; Fred, Falmouth; Hoarce, Great Village, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in St. Andrew's United Church with Rev. R. A. Patterson officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
