She was born March 10, 1921, in Wollaston MA, the daughter of the late Paul I. Denning and Corinne (Heath) Denning. A Concord High School graduate with the Class of 1938, she served on the reunion committee. She served as president of the East Concord Garden Club, belonged to the Lamplighters' Organization, and was a member of the Concord Community Players. Mrs. Paire belonged to St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She sang in the choir and was active in many church events. Mrs. Paire worked for seven years in the State Department of Education as secretary to the commissioner of education. For six years after the death of Dr. Paire, she operated a daycare business for children at her home, where she was known as "Granny" Paire. Mrs. Paire was preceded in death by her husbands Harrison C. Smith and Dr. Newell J. Paire; son Denning H. Smith; daughter-in-law Dr. Celeste Herr Smith; grandson Sheldon Smith; and great-grandson Seth Drouin. Survivors include two children, Deborah A. Seymour and Tricia C. Smith, and her beloved sister Anne Case, all of Concord; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and other family members.
