Rawlins was a native of Hutchins, Texas, having been born there in 1924, and lived in Dallas and Greenville, Texas as well as San Clemente, California at various times in his career with LTV Corporation. More recently he was a long time resident of Crooked River Ranch, Oregon. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Brad and Margaret Billingsley of Anchorage, Alaska, and son and daughter-in-law, Rawlins D. and Bonnie Apperson of Seward, Alaska, as well as five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Leland B. Apperson Jr., of Plano, Texas and Jack Apperson of Dallas, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
