Married on 1959 Children ALCOCK, Scott ALCOCK, Jeffrey R.: January 24, 1962 ALCOCK, Gary H.: May 29, 1964 ALCOCK, Glenn Robert: December 12, 1968 Notes Obituary: Betty Louise Alcock, 77, of Sandwich, NH passed away last Sunday morning, September 16th, 2018 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover after complications from battling acute promyelocytic leukemia. Betty was born on November 8th, 1940 in Natick, MA to Harold and Ruth Whitehouse. Betty graduated from Natick High School in 1957 and married the love of her life, Kenneth Alcock in 1959. After marriage, Betty and Ken moved to Westborough, MA and purchased a house on Robin Road where she raised four boys. Soon after, Betty & Ken purchased a piece of the Walkers Farm, at the end of Robin Road where they built a house and a barn to raise farm animals such as horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens. In 1986 Betty and Ken moved to a farm in Sandwich, New Hampshire where they raised Belgian Draft Horses. In 1993, Betty and Ken started Country Carriage Services which provided horse-drawn services for weddings, parades, and various community and charity events. Betty was a long-time, active member of the Sandwich Community. She participated in organizations and events such as The Sandwich Investment Club and book sales at the Wentworth Library. Perhaps most notable was her deep love and passion for The Sandwich Fair where Betty was an active member of the Fair Committee and served as the Fairs Secretary for 10 years, right up until her passing. Betty is credited with the founding of several popular events at The Fair such as the Farmers Hitch, The Womens Skillet Toss, The Childr ens Scavenger Hunt, and of cou rse, The Childrens Pedal Tractor Pull. During the school year, Betty was busy driving her school bus as she did for 42 years for the communities of Westborough, MA and Sandwich, NH. Bettys immense love for all children was obvious. However, her love for her grandchildren was most obvious. In the summer, you could find Betty driving around Sandwich in a packed car full of her grandchildren making runs from Squam Lake, to The Potholes, to The Sandwich Creamery and back again. Betty was the heart and soul of her family and her community. Betty is predeceased by her brothers Robert and Richard Whitehouse. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Alcock of 58 years, her son Scott and his wife Kerry, her son Jeff and his fianc Dianna Larocque, her son Gary, and her son Glenn and his wife Sabrina. She is also survived by her grandchildren Tyler and his fianc Haley Hitchings, Tahner, Alexzandra, Andrew, Nicole, Shelby, Stella, and Whinny along with many nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Life will take place on September 29th at 1pm at the Baptist Meeting House Church in Center Sandwich, NH. All are welcome.
