  • Obituary: BRITTON - John "Jack" Ainslie, 78, Pugwash River, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, following a lengthy illness. Born at Pugwash River, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Angevine) Britton. In his early years Jack worked as a welder and pipe fitter. More recently he had worked at various jobs and was known as a "jack of trades". He was a member of the Pugwash River United Church. Surviving are his wife, Faye White; her children, Daniel Ferdinand, Pugwash; Adam Ferdinand, Jason Ferdinand, Michael (Sharon Embree) Ferdinand and their son, Zackery, all of Pugwash River; daughters, Judy (George) Ferdinand, Oxford Jct.; Barb (Jeff) Wood, Oxford; grandchildren, Christopher (Rhona) MacLean, Edmonton, AB; Bobby (Kellyanne) MacLean, Halifax, Andrew Ferdinand, Oxford; Jillian Wood, Nicole Wood, Daniel Wood, all of Oxford; great-grandchildren, Corbin MacLean and Charlie Rae MacLean; sister, Una Parlee, Fredericton, N.B.; nephews, Kenny (Lisa) Parlee, Calgary; Danny (Anna) Parlee, Fredericton, N.B. Besides his parents he was predeceased by Faye's son, Clinton Ferdinand and granddaughter, Danielle Ferdinand. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, January 25, with the funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 26, both in Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506). Rev. Connie McNamara officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Pugwash River United Church, the Pugwash River Cemetery Fund or any charity.
