Born in Hartford, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late George and Sadie (Campbell) Carter. For most of his life George worked as a lumberman, working for Payson Dobson Lumber Ltd. until his retirement. George had a love of horses, of which he owned many. He is survived by daughter, Kendellee (Fred), North River; son, Kevin; brothers, Vernon (Jean), Hartford; sisters, Margaret (Sterling) Savoy; Saint John, NB; Laura Messon, Quenel, BC; Annie O'Brien, Hartford; Darlene, Alberta. He was predeceased by brother, Leon; sister, Eileen; brothers-in-law, Ralph, Fred, Benny and Jack; sisters-in-law, Lillian and Vera. Cremation has taken place in the care of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, Wentworth (902-447-2930). There will be no public service following George's request, a private burial will take place at a later date. Donations in George's memory can be made to the Willow Lodge or to a charity of ones choice.
