Laraine Tighe, 84, a long time resident of Bass River died on Monday, August 16, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Tighe for 52 years. Born in Brockton, MA, she was the daughter of the late John Sweeney and Mary Catherine (O'Brien) Sweeney. Laraine graduated from Brockton High School and St. Rose College, New York. Laraine was a model for many years, and she was a manager for the Elizabeth Arden Salon, Boston. She enjoyed traveling, decorating her two homes and playing golf with her Husband. Laraine and Bob lived in Brockton for many years before moving to Cape Cod. They have been winter residence of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FLA. Mrs. Tighe was a member of the Thorny Lea Golf Club, TamoShanter Golf Club, FLA., Lighthouse Point Yacht Club, Hyannis Yacht Club and Cummaquid Golf Club of Yarmouthport, MA. In addition to her Husband, she is survived by her Sister, Grace Sweeney Gorman, her Sister-in-laws; Bunnie Hill, Myrtle Tighe, Irene Tighe and Brother-in-laws, Lloyd Tighe, Matthew Tighe and many Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25 from 4-7 p.m. at Morris, O'Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, So. Yarmouth, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 26 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth. Interment will follow in Chandler Gray Cemetery.
