  • Obituary: Chattanooga Times Free Press (TN) - Tuesday, July 10, 2001 FLINTSTONE, GA -- William Haymore Plumlee, 77, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2001, at his home. He was a U. S. Navy veteran WW II. He was one of the founders and charter members of Cornerstone Congregational Methodist Church in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. A former lay leader, deacon, member of administrative board and taught Sunday school for 40 years. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Louise Plumlee. Survivors include wife, Betty Plumlee, Flintstone, GA; daughter, Charlotte Linda Loser, Spring, TX; sister, Beatrice "Bee" Austin, Red Bank, TN; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001 in the chapel with Rev. Rex Mayo and Dr. Richard Loser officiating. Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. today, July 10, 2001. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Cornerstone Congregational Methodist Church, 1278 Cross St., Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30741, or Hospice of Chattanooga, 165 Hamm Road, Chattanooga, TN 37405.
