  • Obituary: Sophronia was born on April 21, 1901, in Crown Point, Ind., the second of four daughers of Gustav and Isabelle Siebel. Her grandfather owned and ran the well-known Siebel School of Technology where Anheuser, Busch and Coors received their brewery training. The family moved to Chicago when she was an infant, and then moved to Great Falls in 1906, where her father ran the Montana Brewery Co. She attended Great Falls schools, then began working at the age of 13 in a millinery shop. She worked for Paris Dry Goods Store of Great Falls for 35 years. She also did fashion modeling. In 1946, she married John A. Johnson in Helena and the couple continued to live in Great Falls. After John retired in 1957, they moved to the Flathead where they owned a cherry orchard on the east shore. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1960, and three sisters. Sophronia passed away Sunday, April 14, 1996, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell, Montana. Daily Inter Lake Kalispell,MT
