Mrs. Harris retired from the Harrison Post Office after twenty-three years of service. She also was a school bus driver for Hamilton County Schools. During the 1980's Dorothy was an E. M. T. with the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department. Throughout the years and her beloved friend Ann Joel helped so many Harrison Community members. She was a hard worker that devoted time to her family serving others and spending time with her flowers and garden. She was preceded in death by her parents Lena and Lamar Cutten, a brother Wallace Allison (Margaret). She is survived by her husband of 62 years Chief Charles "Dude" Harris and daughters Deborah (Craig) Horton and Suzy (Walt) Hall. One brother Clarence (Bobbie) Allison and sister Betty Davis. Grandchildren Alex, (Ginny) Horton, Bailey (Stuart) Doss, Gracey (Chase) Cochran, and special friends Mark Hutchins and Stan Harding, several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Turner Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Lloyd Harvill officiating. Honorary pall bearers will be members of the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department. The family will receive friends Monday, November 21, 2018, from 4:00 '96 8:00 PM and Tuesday noon until time of service at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department Christmas Toy Drive, P. O. Box 310, Harrison, TN 37341.
