She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert Sturgis "Bobby" Behlman who passed away in 1992.Ruth was born in 1934 in Hyannis, Massachusetts to Hazel and Cecil Goodall. A lifelong resident of Cotuit, she was the youngest of three sisters: Elizabeth Pease and Carolyn Gilchrist who both predeceased her.Ruth was a graduate of Barnstable High School and attended Endicott College in Beverly Massachusetts. She taught kindergarten at the Cotuit Elementary School and Sunday school at the Cotuit Federated Church. Ruth worked in the Barnstable Town Clerk's office, and at the polls at Cotuit's Freedom Hall.Together with her husband, Ruth raised four children: Wade S. Behlman and his wife Lisa of Hyannis, Scott W. Behlman of Cotuit, Lisa Behlman Runci of Cotuit and Gregg R. Behlman of Cotuit. Ruth had eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.A parishioner of the Cotuit Federated Church, Ruth's memorial service will be held on November 23, 2024, at 11 am.The family request, in lieu of flowers, any donations in Ruth's memory be made to the donor's charity of choice.
