  • Obituary: TOM D. HARRINGTON February 5, 1917 - May 6, 2002 Tom Harrington had a lifelong career in sales, and served actively, and later in reserve status, in the U.S. Air Force as a Lt. Col. Ret. Reserve. He died after a short illness. Graveside services were held on May 11 and he was buried with full military honors, and with other family members, in Eagle Lake, TX. He brought his family from their native Texas to California in 1953. They settled in San Mateo, and lived there happily for 49 years. He and his wife Mari were actively involved in the Burlingame Methodist Church for 49 years. Just recently they moved to Pleasanton, to be near their daughter Mari, her husband Roger, and grandsons Jerry and Stephen Leontie. It was hard to leave friends in San Mateo, but Tom fell instantly in love with life in Pleasanton, and mentioned often how much he enjoyed seeing his children and grandchildren daily. The family loved stopping by to visit him as well. The family suggests contributions to your favorite charity. East Bay Times Walnut Creek,CA June 17, 2002
