  • Obituary: STERLING/GRAFTON- Sgt. Ralph E. Tripp, Sr. passed away November 30, 2012. He is predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Marie E. (Dumas) Tripp who died April 18, 2002. Ralph leaves behind his children Lorinda Tripp and Ray Nydam, Karen Baker, Jennifer Tripp and her husband Paul Pockevicius, Patricia Tripp and her husband Roger Richard, Paula Tripp, Liet. Wayne Tripp and his wife Maryanne, Ralph Tripp, Jr. and his wife Bonnie, Douglas Tripp, and Edward Tripp. He also leaves his grandchildren Chris Baker, James Tripp Pockevicius, Tyler, Jolene, Kyle, Kayla, and Tanya Tripp, Sandy Benoit, and Randy and Nathan Smith. Ralph also is predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Ralph was a decorated Sgt. of the U.S.M.C. serving in the Korean War and World War II in the Pacific theatre. Ralph could recall with detail fighting in Korea, and he was also a witness to the original American flag-raising at Iwo Jima. He was wounded in action receiving a Purple Heart and many other awards for his duty. Ralph was dedicated to the U.S.M.C. - Semper Fi. Ralph was also a Grafton Police Officer for many years, the Grafton Dog Officer, and also worked for many years at Lodding Engineering. Ralph and his wife owned Tripp Family Farm/Silver Spring Kennels where they raised German Sheperds and A.M.H.R. miniature show horses and Boston Terriers. Sgt. Tripp was very proud to serve his country. A Funeral Service for Ralph will be held at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N.
