Steeves, of Elgin, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2006, at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, at the age of 79. Born in Mapleton, she was a daughter of the late William and Annie (Lane) Crandall. She was a school teacher and a member of the Elgin Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Lynn (Phyllis) of Edmonton, Larry of Florida, John (Darla) of Elgin, Gerald (Ruth) of Petitcodiac, Shelley Rouse (Donald) and Shawnee Steeves (Ken) both of Sussex; brothers, Robert Crandall (Sybil) and Wayne Crandall (Christina) both of Salisbury; sister, Louise MacIntyre (Bob) of Salisbury; 19 grandchildren; two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent and grandson, Tyler. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Armstrong's Funeral Home, Petitcodiac, where visiting hours will be held Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held from the Elgin Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at 1:30pm, with Rev. L. Taylor and Pastor J. Hammond officiating. The burial will be held at the New Elgin Cemetery.
