  • Obituary: Lloyd Hume, age 83, died at home June 2, 2004 after a brief illness. Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada he was a lifelong resident of Somerville. He was the son of the late Prudence (Taylor) and Ewen Hume. Lloyd worked as a carpenter for the MBTA for over 20 years and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 51. He was a US Army Air Corp veteran of WW II who earned a Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theater Service Medal with 8 Bronze Stars, and an Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters. Lloyd was survived by his sister Gladys Mood of Winchester, brother Elmer Hume and his wife Priscilla of Hingham, and brother Richard Hume and his wife Winnie of Florida. Lloyd was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Saturday June 5 at 1:00 pm with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours will be held Friday evening from 7-9.
