Harmon, 87, formerly of Wayland, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 following a period of declining health. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on Dec. 6, 1920, the son of the late Florence Harmon and Anne (Doyle) Harmon. Mr. Harmon is survived by his wife, Eleanor W. (White) Harmon of Wayland. He was the father of Michael J. Harmon of Reno, Nev., Mark E. Harmon and his wife, Janice M., of Corvalis, Ore., David J. Harmon of Clinton, Susan H. Stasny and her husband, Keith, of Pembroke, Janet H. Harmon of Pembroke, and Patrick A. Harmon of Wayland. He also leaves his grandchildren, Daniel, Catherine and Stacey Harmon, Russell Harmon, Ekaterina and Anastasia Stasny, and Daniel and Eleana Martinez. He was the brother of Martha (Harmon) Pendergast of Buffalo, N.Y. Mr. Harmon spent his formative years in Buffalo and moved to Wayland in 1947. He most recently resided in Pembroke He served his country proudly during World War II with the Merchant Marines. He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m., at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (off Rte. 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland. Family and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 at 11 a. m. at St. Zepherin's Church, Rte. 27, Wayland. Interment will follow in the Harmon family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Concord VNA, 250 Pleasant St, Concord, NH 03301.
