(Lightbody) Cole age 93 years died in the Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham, Massachusetts on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Born in Walpole, Massachusetts on June 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John and Clara (Barrows) Lightbody. She graduated from Walpole High School and later from the Henry O. Peabody School in Norwood. She was a beloved life long resident of Walpole. She worked as a nurse at Norwood Hospital for many years and retired in 1980. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of South Walpole, serving on many committees. She visited the prisons and was a member of the Circle at the Church. In addition, she loved to sew and work on crafts, and she would sew items for the Church Fair. She was also a 4H Leader. More than anything, Mrs. Cole loved doing for other and spending time with her family and friends. She will live in our hearts forever. Beloved wife of the late Jack Cherella, the late George Blair and the late Putnam Cole. Loving mother of Richard Cherella of Vermont, Judith Cherella of Berkley, Nancy Welch of Florida and Robert Cherella of Onset. Cherished grandmother of 14 , great grandmother of 24 and great great grandmother of 3. Sister of Steele Lightbody of Walpole, Kenneth Lightbody of Florida, the late Harriett Barnes, Dorothy York, Stanley York, John Lightbody and Evelyn Simmons.
