He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, including at the Battle of the Bulge. He received the Bronze Star. He lived in Bethel, Maine, before moving to Shelburne. He was employed by the Brown Paper Company for 32 years before his retirement in 1980. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Agnes (Angevine) Deblois of Shelburne; a son, Charles Deblois of Danbury; four daughters, Luella Vaillancourt of Randolph, Marie Villnave of Gorham, Nancy St.John Williams of Bath and Dot Morin of Berlin; a sister, Eleanor Merrill of Gorham; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
