Notes

  • Obituary: John D. Angevine, 71, died peacefully at his home in Stewartstown, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 3, 2014. Born in Upton, Me., on Dec. 13, 1942, he was the youngest of 11 children of the late John A. and Gladys (Lombard) Angevine. John was a 1960 graduate of Berlin High School. After graduation, he served for 3 years with the 92nd Engineers Battalion in the U.S. Army. Upon returning home, he worked for the Beecher Falls Div. of Ethan Allen, drove logging trucks and then found his true passion when he purchased Creampoke Farm in 1970 which he operated successfully as a dairy farm for 20 years with his family. John and his wife Connie then purchased Colebrook Feeds and operated it for 23 years until their retirement in 2012. John enjoyed the simple things in life'97watching the sun go down from camp, observing wildlife around the farm, and enjoying the company of visitors who loved the farm, too. He will be remembered as a dedicated steward of the land. His family was everything to him and he often bragged about how close they were. Every Sunday, John and Connie hosted a family breakfast for their children and grandchildren and anyone else who stopped by. There was always room for one more, and everyone was always made to feel welcome. He looked forward to Sunday morning projects that his family helped with. He had a strong work ethic and sense of loyalty which he instilled in his family. John loved music and loved to sing while his grandson Benjamin played guitar. And he loved to talk about the "old days" with his grandson Darren, and make furniture for his granddaughter, Anika. John could find humor in any situation and he liked to tease those whom he loved the most. His favorite quote was, "And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, 'I need a caretaker.' So, God made a farmer." John is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Constance "Connie" (Rancloes) Angevine of Stewartstown; three children, Michael Angevine and wife Faith of Stewartstown, Linda Hook and husband Robert of Brunswick, Vt., and Beth Goudreau and husband Paul of Stewartstown; five grandchildren, Benjamin Hook, Darren Goudreau, Anika Goudreau, Jason Hook and Amy (Hook) Parsons; his in-laws, Glenna & Frank Rancloes of Stewartstown; a brother, Avery Angevine of Bethel, Me.; a sister, Mary Agnes Deblois of Shelburne, NH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Jenkins Funeral Home Colebrook,NH
