  • Obituary: WALTER A. HAVEN, 90, Port St. Lucie, Fla., formerly of Cranston, a former treasurer and assistant vice president for Citizens Bank, died unexpectedly Jan. 10 in Rockville, Md. He was the husband of Gilda C. (Errico) Haven. Born in Cranston, a son of the late Walter Beattie Haven and Kate Simmons (Thurber) Haven, he had lived in Scituate before he retired. He moved to Florida in 1974. After graduating from Cranston High School in 1928, Mr. Haven became a messenger with Citizens bank. He advanced to its mortgage department in 1937, became assistant vice president in 1958, and treasurer in 1962. He worked at Citizens Bank for 46 years. Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Nancy Spear and Lois Bennett, both of Port St. Lucie, and Lida Black of South Yarmouth, Mass.; a son, Richard Haven of Port St. Lucie; three stepchildren; and seven grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and two stepgreatgrandchildren. A memorial service will be held next Friday at All Saints Memorial Church, 674 Westminster St., Providence. Providence Journal Providence,RI January 26, 2001
