  • Obituary: CURTIS, Mildred Horn ? Age 90, of Roseburg, passed away Thursday, June 12, 1997 in a Coburg, Oregon care home. She was born March 3, 1907 in Montrose, Colorado to Harry and Mabel Truesdale and spent her early childhood on a ranch in Idaho, moving to Oregon at the age of 12. She moved to Roseburg with her husband, Harold W. Horn, in 1938. They operated Horn's Super Cream until they commenced operation of Horn's Appliance in 1947. Following her husbands death in 1968 she continued to operate the appliance business until her retirement in 1971. She was active in the American Red Cross, Zonta, Rotary Ann, Eastern Star and the Poetry Club. She was a member of the Umpqua Camera Club and was very active in photography. She also published her own book of poetry. After her retirement, she married Reed J. Curtis, who shared her interests in photography. He preceded her in death in 1987. She is survived by three sons, John H. Horn of Eugene, Robert D. and Dallas W. Horn, both of Roseburg; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 1997 at 1 p.m. at WILSON'S CHAPEL OF THE ROSES. Officiating will be Father Albert Sayers. Interment will follow at Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
