Dempsey is survived by his wife, Dorothy Calhoun of Lake Whitney, TX; daughters, Cathy Blymyer and husband Paul of Columbus, TX, Cindi Schneider and husband Jim of Columbus, TX, and Kayley Kovar and husband Jeff of Columbus, TX; sons, Scott Calhoun and wife Susan of Waco, TX, and Cary Calhoun of Port Aransas, TX; first wife and mother of his children, Betty Gills of Columbus, TX; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Dave Adair and Gertrude (Pickett) Calhoun, sister Joy Calhoun, and brother, Dave Adair Calhoun, Jr. Private family burial was held at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus.
