She was the wife of the late Charles B. Birdsey who was killed in action in World War II and the late Alexander Hunter who died in 1982. Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Justin F. & Abbie (Swinerton) Kronenberg, she was a longtime resident of Onset and had been a resident at Cape Cod Nursing Home in Buzzards Bay. A homemaker, Mrs. Hunter loved boating and was a strong swimmer who had saved several lives from drowning. She also loved animals, and was especially fond of Scottish Terriers. Survivors include her son, Charles J. Birdsey of Hobe Sound, FL; three grandchildren, Christopher D. Birdsey of Brewster, Karen E. MacLeod of Hobe Sound, FL and Tamsin Marie Birdsey of Hyannis. A graveside service will be held on Wed., July 14, 2010 at the Agawam Cemetery, Stillman Dr., Wareham at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours have been omitted.
