She was born in Halifax and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her life revolved around her family, there for them all the time and never missed a family function. Jean was the cherished mother and grandmother of son, David, at home; daughters, Karen Faulkner, Hilden; Cheryl (Andy) Matthews, Onslow; Gerry (David) Crouse, New Glasgow; grandchildren, Joey, Jeremy, Melissa and Matthew Faulkner, Jeffrey and Natalie Matthews, Kenny and Katelyn Crouse; great-grandson, Jaegar Faulkner; special sister-in-law, Betty (George) Arnold, Halifax; best friend, Lorraine Ernst, Ontario. She was predeceased by her father, Charles Buckler, and her mother, the former Grace Day; husband, Thomas; brother, John. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14, in Mattatall Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating, with burial in Bible Hill Cemetery, Bible Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
