The shooting took place in the yard of the home and followed a quarrel between the husband and wife. Two daughters witnessed the tragedy. An inquest was held last evening and the jury placed the cause of the death on the husband. Joseph Tattrie was well known in New Glasgow, having been foreman on concrete work for Spurgeon Gammon for some time. He was a good workman but it was known that he did not get along well with his wife, and lived as little as possible at home. Later- This morning while being taken to Truro jail by a Constable, the prisoner Tattrie committed suicide by cutting his throat. He made a complete job and death was instantaneous. This second tragedy took place on the C.N.R. train between Oxford and Oxford Junction. That is the end of the sordid affair that has so stirred the peaceful village of Tatamagouche.
