  • Obituary: STOUGHTON Lillian M. (Phinney) Howland-Bell, 93, of Stoughton recently, formerly of Danvers, died Aug. 15, 2009. She was the wife of the late Clarence Raymond Howland and Francis Bell. Born in Danvers, she resided there most of her life until this year. She was a librarian in Danvers for many years. Lillian was a member of Ladies Sodality and Holy Rollers (making bandages for war effort) at St. Marys of the Annunciation Church in Danvers and she enjoyed traveling. She was the beloved mother of Richard (and Sara) Howland of Fullerton, Calif., Suzanne (and Richard) Sarkisian of Stoughton, Kathleen (and William Douglas) Ford of Chicago, Jeffrey (and Cynthia) Howland of Wilmington and the late Janice Kowalski; loving grandmother of 18; great-grandmother of many; and sister of the late Jewel Lang. All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at 8 a.m. from Waitt Funeral Home, funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Edith Stein Parish, Brockton, and burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in California.
