  • Obituary: Margaret "Peggy" Bernard, 83, Sylvan Terrace, died at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at her home of natural causes. Graveside services will be at 10 p.m. Friday at Green Hill Memorial Gardens with Eddie Graddy officiating. Lamb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Plymouth, Mass., she was born Sept. 9, 1929, the daughter of the late Mattie Orff. She was retired from the Army Nurses Corps as a first lieutenant, was in the Navy and was also in World War II as part of the Women's Army Corps. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Fairview, and was a registered nurse at Western State Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Bernard. Her stepson, Ronald Bernard, White Pigeon, Mich., survives.
