She had been ill for several months with a heart condition but had improved sufficiently during the summer to permit her taking short walks, and it was while conversing with a neighbour that she was stricken. Deceased was a daughter of the late Major Albert Messinger and Emma (Wilson) Messinger, Centrelea, and married in 1897, living in Sydney several years before coming to Deep Brook 17 years ago. A devout member of the Baptist church, Mrs Spurr will be long remembered for her interest in missionary work, and musical contributions toward all services as long as health permitted. She leaves her husband, and 4 children: WA Spurr of Kentville, Marie, wife of Frank Pramargiore, New York, Miss Ethel Spurr, RN, Lynn, and Pauline, wife of Raymond Moore; also 4 sisters: Mrs Maud Lawson, Miss Clara Messinger, Miss Emma Messinger, Lynn, Mrs George Wilson, Swampscott; and 1 brother, Harry Messinger, Swampscott. Funeral will be from the Baptist Church, Pastor WH Turner officiating, assisted by Rev Frank Bishop, Digby, a cousin of Mr Spurr. Burial will be in the Centrelea Cemetery.
