He was born at Karsdale, 58 years ago. He was a son of the late Josephine (Conley) Chisholm whose death occurred in January, 1946 and Arthur W Chisholm. He came to Granville Ferry in 1918 and became associated in business with his brother Ralph T Chisholm. Chisholm's livery establishment was well known at that time and as business increased and cars came into general use it was later known as Chisholm' Taxi and transfer service. The younger brother, Ralph, died in February, 1922 at the age of 39 years, and since that time the business which included Chisholm's Funeral Service has been carried on by Chester Chisholm and his brother's widow, Mrs Ralph T Chisholm. Chet as he was known to his many friends possessed a genial happy disposition. In January, 1938, 11 years ago, Mr Chisholm's marriage to Miss Ethel Troop of Granville Centre took place. He is survived by his wife, and his aged father, Arthur W Chisholm who since the death of his wife has made his home with his son, Chester, in Granville Ferry, and who has how suffered the loss of both sons. Also, surviving are 2 uncles, George W Chisholm of Karsdale and Loren Conley of Saint John; and 2 aunts, Mrs Alden Winchester (Lizzie Conley) and Mrs Joseph Coates (Beatrice Conley), both of Lynn, Massachusetts. Funeral services were Sunday, Reverend WW LeVatte officiating, interment at Granville Beach Cemetery near the grave of his brother, Ralph.
