  • Obituary: Warren F. Handley, 87, of Kirksville, Mo., formerly of Linden, N.J., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at the home of his daughter, Darlene Jackson, surrounded by his loving family, Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1787 Raritan Rd., Scotch Plains, N.J., at 11 a.m. Visitation is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Visitation will also be held in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke St., Linden, on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment is at Rosedale Memorial Park, Linden. Warren was born and raised in Linden, N.J., where he graduated from Linden High School in 1943. Warren lived in Linden until 2000, then lived in Toms River for 13 years before moving to Kirksville, Mo., in August. He proudly served his country as a radio operator in the United States Marine Corps from 1944 to 1951 during World War II and the Korean War. Warren was the owner/operator of W.F. Handley Fuel Oil Co. in Linden, N.J., from 1963 to 1988. Warren was an active member of his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served as bishop, branch president, missionary, patriarch, temple worker, and faithful home teacher. He was also a former member of the Reformed Church of Linden Couples Club, and the Martin Danowski Marine Corps League Detachment. Warren is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Imogene (Craver) Handley; his loving children, Cheryl Burwell and her husband, Darby, Kevin Handley and his wife, Toni Marie, and Darlene Jackson and her husband, Dan; cherished grandfather of 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
