Graveside service will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home. Joel was born May 13, 1935 in Pontiac, Michigan. He was the oldest of 10 children to George and Laura (Johnson) Marshall. He went to local schools in Michigan and at age 18 joined the United States Air Force. After a few other bases, he came to Great Falls with his first wife and baby son. They had a daughter here in Great Falls. In time, they separated and he stayed in Great Falls making it his home. After the service he became the owner of the Caravan Club. When that venture ended, he then went to work at the Mountain Bell in 1975. He worked there until 2011, which by then it was called Quest. Joel loved golf until his legs wouldn't do the job anymore. He loved old westerns, CNN, jazz music. He dealt cards at a couple of the local establishments in Great Falls. He married Carol McVay in 1999, after a very long "courtship". Joel is survived by his wife, Carol; sons Will "Jerry" Dixon, Larry (Audrey) Marshall, Andre (Patricia) Bell; two grandchildren; sisters, Rosa and Alberta (Jerry); brothers, Alfred (Buena), Larry (Anita), George and Tim. He was preceded in death by his parents; step mother Bertha; daughter Karen; brothers, Charles, Rev. Drew and Kenneth Marshall. He was a very special man and will always be in our hearts.
