Obituary: RAFUSE, Roland Laray - 77, Gulf Shore, Cumberland Co., passed away,
May 19, 1999, in Moncton City Hospital.
Born in Chester, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Chase)
Rafuse. He was a retired employee of the Canadian Salt Company, having
worked a total of 25 years and was a member of CEPU, Pugwash Salt Local,
823. He worked as a lobster fisherman for many years, having fished with
his father and later purchasing his own gear. He has resided on the Gulf
Shore for many years and loved spending time tending to his vegetable
garden.
Surviving are his wife, the former Norma Jean MacLeod; daughters,
Brenda Rafuse, Halifax; Debbie and husband Carl Brown, Pugwash; son,
Charles Rafuse, Halifax; grandchildren, Luke and Taylor; sisters, Rhoda
Day, Nellie Chandler, Kathleen Brooks, all of Halifax; brothers, Peter
and Allan, both of East Chester; Vincent, Sudbury, Ont.; several nieces
and nephews.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday,
both in Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash, Rev. Janet
Travers officiating. Burial will be in Waugh Cemetery, Gulf Shore. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
