Marion Priscilla Church was born February 7, 1926, in Natick MA, the baby of three children born to Herbert S. Church and Edith (Shaw) Church. She was raised in Massachusetts, later attending the Wellesley Nursing School where she obtained her Nurses License. Marion met a young serviceman from Framingham MA named Edward W. Nielsen. They fell in love and were married in 1947. Together they raised three daughters, Marianne, Janice, and Elizabeth. Marion genuinely loved her work as a nurse, and she worked in pediatrics for more than 30 years. Her greatest joy, however, was her family; and she took great pride in being a wife, a mother, and eventually a grandmother. Marion "always wanted to do for others" and looked for ways to make life easier. She was a gifted quilter and a member of the Chickasha Quilters Guild and the United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Nielsen; parents Herbert and Edith Church; siblings Barbara Strange and Herb Church; and granddaughters Nancy Elizabeth Carter and Heather Margaret Carter. Marion leaves behind her daughters Marianne Carter and husband David of Lexington, Janice LaFreniere of Palm Bay FL, and Elizabeth Bousquet and husband Robert of Wanette OK; granddaughters Jaime LaFreniere and Jennifer LaFreniere; great-grandchildren Jacob, Bryce, Nathan, and Bodie; and a host of other family members and friends.
