Obituary: LYNN - Eleanor (Young) Gorham, 78, of 13 Rose Ave., a former teacher at Burdett College in Lynn, died Monday at the North Shore Medical Center, Salem Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Swampscott, she had resided on Rose Avenue for 39 years, and was a graduate of Swampscott High School, and of Simmons College.
Mrs. Gorham was a 50 year active member of the First Church in Swampscott, Congregational. She was also a nationally accredited floral arranger and judge.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Carl E. Gorham, a sister, Barbara L. Young of Exeter, N.H.; two grand-daughters, Julie Devlin-Gomez of Virginia and Kimberly Devlin of Salem.
She was the mother of the late Joan S. Devlin and the daughter of the late Allen G. and Jessie (Young) [sic, Shaw] Young.
