  • Obituary: Anna Rose Goodspeed Green, 81, formerly of Clearwater Drive in Falmouth, died Aug. 22, 2000, at Seaside Nursing Home. She was born in Randolph, a daughter of Ernest and Olive M. Paine Goodspeed, and graduated from Gardiner High School in 1937, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and secretary of the Drama Club. She earned an honorary degree in piano from Trinity College of Music in London in 1938, graduated from Bradford (Mass.) Junior College in 1939 and from the Katherine Gibbs Secretary School in Boston. She married Dr. Ross W. Green on Dec. 6, 1946. He died June 14, 1998. Mrs. Green was a homemaker most of her life, but worked at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the New England Conservatory of Music. She was a past member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Auburn and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Green spent her summers on Ocean and Juniper Point in Boothbay Harbor. Her hobbies included music and playing tennis. A daughter, Martha N. Green, died in 1978. Surviving are a son, Ross A. Green of Cumberland; a sister, Natalie Klemm of Tenant, Calif.; two grandchildren, Emily A. and Ryan R. Green; and two nieces, Nancy and Margaret Goodspeed, both of Portland. There will be no visiting hours. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by The Fortin Group, Lewiston and Auburn. Portland Press Herald Portland,ME August 26, 2000
