(Shaw) Acheson died Saturday May 24 at the Lowell General Hospital \endash Saints Campus after a brief illness. He was born in Cambridge, May 16, 1912, the son of the late James and Dianna (Levis) Acheson and lived in Somerville all of his life. Mr. Acheson served in the Navy during WW II. He was employed at the Boston Naval Shipyard for many years and later worked at the former Knox Brothers Dodge in the parts department. He was a member of the Mt. Tabor Masonic Lodge for 77 years and was a former Past Master. Mr. Acheson is survived by his daughter, Barbara Van Dyke and her husband Walter of Billerica; his son, James Steven Acheson and his wife Kerri of Minneapolis, MN; his grandchildren, Karen Van Dyke and her husband Kenneth Kepchar, David Van Dyke and his wife Laurie, Graham Acheson and his wife Siobhan and Tyler Acheson and his wife Caroline and his great grandchildren, Patrick, Derek and Garret Van Dyke. It being Mr. Acheson request all funeral arrangements will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
