Snide Sr. passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2016, at his home in Springfield, VT. He was born May 22, 1936, in Springfield, the son of Harvey S. and Sarah (Chase) Snide. He attended Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield High School, Class of 1954. On April 18, 1974, he married Linda J. Parsons in Springfield. He was a truck driver for various companies in the area. Bob was an avid NASCAR fan, an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Linda of Springfield; two sons, William G. Snide of Springfield and Shawn M. Snide of Chester; three daughters, Linda L. Malo and Donna L. Hill, both of Columbus, Georgia, and Brenda J. Hester of Shiloh, Georgia; one brother, Larry E. Snide of Bellows Falls; two sisters, Dorothy Stearns and Patricia Hardy, both of Springfield; also by ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; one son, Robert R. Snide Jr.; one daughter, Sonya R. Blaisdell; and two brothers, Paul A. Snide and Frederick Snide. A graveside service will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
