Kathryn was born on March 15, 1920 in Elbow Lake, the daughter of Arthur and Selma (Olson) Palin. Kathryn married Paul A. Deutsch and after their marriage they lived in Ashby. In 1946 they moved to rural Battle Lake, where they purchased a poultry farm on Clitherall Lake which they operated until retirement. Paul passed away on Jan. 2, 1998 and Kathie continued to reside on their farm until the time of her death. Kathie is survived by four children: Cynthia (Jon) Boline of Denver, Colo;, John Paul (Candy) Deutsch of Anchorage, Ala.; Sybil Donelan of Cambridge, and Gay (Jeff) Stabnow of Clitherall; 10 grandchildren, Suzanne Danner, Stacey (Michael) Kinne, Kathye (David) Gresham, Kristina Slater, Tracy Deutsch, Christian Deutsch, Patrick (Sarah) Donelan, Erin (Patrick) O'Brien, Kathryn Stabnow and Jessica Stabnow;and by 13 great-grandchildren. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents, Selma and Arthur Palin; two brothers, Clare and James Palin; and by one sister, Gloria (Clem) Cruze.
