Obituary: Ron Vieths was the third child to Brent and Virginia Vieths. He grew up in Hawley, MN and enlisted in the United States Army in 1970. Ron served honorably for eight years as a correctional officer, his duty stations including Virginia, Okinawa, Fort Riley and Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Upon separating from the Army, he continued a career in corrections working briefly for the Kansas State Penitentiary and ultimately for the United States Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Brent and Virginia, and his brother Butch. He is survived by his sister, Mickie & Steve Rodke, three children: Brian & Jessica, Brandi, Dain & Erin; step-daughter Christina; six grandchildren, sister-in-law Sharon, nephews and nieces.
Services will be held at 11am on July 11, 2020, Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN.
